Materials and Techniques to Solve Your Sound Problems:

Acoustic Fiberglass or Acoustic Mineral Wool insulation panels are a functional option for reducing sounds coming from appliances, machinery, ceiling panels, and partitions.

Acoustic Foam absorbs sound waves, reduces echo, and improves overall acoustics. These panels also offer added protection from drafts, heat, and humidity.

Acoustic Cotton Panels and baffles made from cotton fibers dampen both low and high frequency sounds. They work well in commercial and residential settings where sound transfer needs to be controlled.

The quality of your installation will determine just how much noise gets eliminated — and there is a material engineered for every soundproofing problem. Doors can be sealed with foam tape or silicone, with silicone providing a significantly better sound barrier than vinyl or foam. Windows can be addressed with a seal kit, a transparent sound barrier, a sound barrier blanket, or full soundproof replacement windows.

If you’re a light sleeper bothered by traffic or neighborhood noise, sound insulation can help preserve a quiet bedroom environment. If your goal is to contain sound coming from a specific room — a home theater, music studio, or any noise-generating space — sound absorbing insulation is the right tool for keeping that noise where it belongs.

The Many Methods of Soundproofing

There are several approaches to soundproofing a space, and the right one depends on your situation. One of the most effective methods involves removing the existing wall or ceiling, sealing any gaps where sound is leaking through, adding insulation, and then floating a new layer of drywall using resilient clips. Those clips create a separation between the drywall and the studs or rafters — and that air gap is key to reducing how much sound passes through.

Quiet Rock With Green Glue

Another option is to add a layer of soundproofing drywall over your existing wall using Green Glue compound, which dampens sound transmission without major construction. We offer solutions at every level — from simple upgrades to more involved builds — depending on your budget and how significant the noise problem is.

Double Walls

One of the most effective soundproofing methods is the “room within a room” approach, which uses double walls to completely isolate a space from its surroundings. It’s commonly used in recording studios and music practice rooms. While it’s one of the more costly options, when combined with other soundproofing materials it delivers the highest level of sound isolation available.

Another method uses spring track to decouple drywall from the surrounding wall structure, efficiently reducing sound transfer without full double-wall construction. It’s a more involved install that requires precision — if it’s not done correctly, it won’t perform as intended. That’s where having an experienced team makes all the difference.

Recycled Cotton Batts

Cotton batts don’t block noise from entering a wall, but they do absorb sound energy from within it — stopping sound from bouncing back and forth inside wall cavities and reducing what ultimately passes through.

Many cotton batt products also double as thermal insulation, with some performing better than traditional fiberglass or spray foam options. They’re typically made from around 80% recycled materials and are easy to install between studs with basic tools, making them a practical, eco-friendly alternative that pulls double duty on both sound and energy efficiency.
